The Natwest annual report puts Leeds as the 17th most cost-effective student city to live, with a weeks rent costing £105 (on average). And, according to statistics from HSBC, the all inclusive weekly spend comes in at £212.

Chose from tiny underground venues, hosting big time musicians and global DJs, or super clubs hosting the most popular student and club nights in the city. Leeds also has a thriving LGBT nightlife scene, with the centre playing home to a hub of new gay bars and clubs. 4. IT’S A POTENT CITY FOR GRADUATES
A city that’s perfect for students, welcomes new graduates and eases them into working adult life.
There is a growing trend in students staying in their university cities once they have graduated. Graduates are choosing to find jobs where they studied, and develop their careers there. The North of the UK is reemerging as a power house, meaning there are greater opportunities for prospective grads. Leeds is a vibrant city with a strong jobs market and one of the largest economies in the UK.
5. PROUD AND RICH CULTURE
Leeds is home to a collection of museums, theatres, and art galleries, such as Abbey House Museum and the Leeds City Museum. The music scene is unrivalled, and underrated. There are more music venues in Leeds than you could imagine. The passion for music in this city is immense, with hundreds of local bands (both good and bad) you’re never short of somewhere to listen to live music. In the summer months the annual Reading and Leeds festival hits town.
