BANGOR UNIVERSITY AREA GUIDE

Bangor is perfect for students who are searching for a quiet, outdoors experience with an idyllic Welsh back drop.

Located just between the mountain and the sea, Bangor is one of the smallest cities in the UK. There’s lots to do but even more to see, offering some of the most beautiful scenery around. Just outside of Bangor you will find Anglesey, a popular tourist destination. Here you will find beautiful beaches and fantastic water sports facilities.

Known to most as one of the least expensive student cities, the scenery on offer is anything but cheap. Bangor is equipped to host almost any outdoor sporting activity that you can think of. With Snowdonia National Park on your doorstep this may be one of the most attractive locations to study in the UK.

The city may be tiny but the university attracts students from across the globe. Bangor offers you the chance to partake in world leading research from an expansive list of courses. Over half of the academic schools are ranked in the top 20 for research.

Students may experience a quieter nightlife than those in a large metropolis, but Bangor student still like to party. Take part in the popular pub crawl route before a night in Academi. After making it to the final destination, students usually end up at Pizza House serving the ‘best pizza around’.
