It’s been almost two years since University Cribs started, and a lot of developments have been made during this period. We thought we’d take a look back over what we have achieved as a new tech start up, as we continue on our mission to revolutionise the student property market.
Many media publications have picked up on the niche of our service, with national newspapers including The Evening Standard highlighting our work as the ‘Zoopla for Student Flats’, through our attempts to reduce the ‘race’ to highly demanded student properties, as University Cribs offers housing options from different landlords and agencies under one platform. Our research and statistics have also been used to convey trends within the student property market in publications such as ‘The Independent’.
The Huffington Post also listed us under their article the ‘Top 10 Startups of 2017 you won’t want to miss’, which was another fantastic accolade for our relatively young tech company.
Our ‘Puppy Petting Day’ events were picked up by multiple media platforms including Wales Online, The Tab, Various student media resources, as well as ITV West Country. They conveyed our philosophy behind the campaign, which was implemented in order to reduce stress for students during a busy exam period, as well as to raise money for charity Mind. We carried out this activation at multiple universities, and achieved great responses from the day as a whole.
We are honoured to have been shortlisted for multiple tech awards, including being ranked in StartUps Top 100 UK companies. Our success has also been recognised on other forms of media, such as co-founders Christian Samuel and Jack Jenkins interview for StartUps (video below), and an appearance on BBC Wales Radio.
We have also been announced as a finalist’s of multiple acceleration programmes. These include Innovation Point’s first technology accelerator ‘The Digital Dozen‘, The JDC Nurture programme as well as Entrepreneurial-Spark which is powered by Natwest. We hope our partnership with these programmes which will further encourage our growth as a company within the property market over the upcoming year.
Christian Samuel and Jack Jenkins have also been nominated as young entrepreneurs of the year at the Welsh Start Up Awards. They both have received additional press surrounding their position as founders of the corporation, which further demonstrate our achievements as a company, as well as for their individual successes.
We are so proud of everything the team has achieved so far, and we look forward to see what the upcoming years have in store for University Cribs!
